100% SILK HABOTAI | 90 × 90cm

Exploring the magic of Shibori. Crafted from luxurious silk habotai, this scarf is hand-painted and overdyed using Arashi: the traditional Japanese Shibori method named after the storm. Textile artist B.Star leans into the fluid mysteries of Shibori, allowing organic patterns to emerge alongside her deep love for evocative colour.

HOW IT'S MADE

The Painting: Hand-painted with low-impact, fibre-reactive Procion-MX dyes to build rich, vibrant chroma on raw silk.

The Dyeing: Bound using the traditional Arashi Shibori method, then finished with a deliberate pour-over dyeing technique engineered to minimise water waste.

The Palette: An evolution of the Ember series, moving through deep plum and rich, luminous rubine tones.

The Process: Steam-set and cured to permanently fix the original artwork directly into the silk fibres.
